Meagan Good recently opened up about a difficult decision she made early in her relationship with husband Jonathan Majors: rehoming her beloved cat, Bam Bam.
During an appearance on the Picture This digital series, the Think Like A Man actress explained that when she and Majors began blending their lives after their March 2025 wedding, the introduction of his two dogs—and later, a third puppy they adopted together—created a challenging dynamic at home.
“Bam Bam was real upset,” Good, 44, shared. “And Bam Bam started using the bathroom in the bed.”
Initially, Good felt she “couldn’t live without” her feline companion. “At first I was like, 'I’m going to miss him,'” she recalled. “And I really want him here, and he’s my little kitty.”
However, the cat’s behavioral issues, combined with the couple’s growing affection for their new puppy and limited space in their bed, led her to make a tough call. As she succinctly put it: “I chose the man.”
Good isn’t alone among celebrities who have faced pet-related adjustments during major life changes. Earlier this year, Jennifer Lawrence reflected on rehoming her dog, Princess Pippi Longstocking, after welcoming her two toddlers with husband Cooke Maroney.
“After I had a kid, dogs became so scary,” Lawrence said during a January panel. “One of them bit my son and that just made me want to obliterate every dog ever.”
Unlike Good’s situation, Lawrence noted she’s kept her cat, adding, “I have a cat and I feel like they're so misunderstood.”
The topic of celebrity pet parenting continues to resonate, with stars like Megan Thee Stallion, Kim Kardashian, and Sydney Sweeney also sharing glimpses into their lives with furry companions in recent months.
