German e-bike manufacturer Lemmo has officially unveiled its first-ever cargo bike, the Lemmo 3. Designed as a premium, step-through longtail, the company is boldly marketing the new two-wheeler as the bicycle equivalent of an SUV.

While the Lemmo 3 presents itself as a more practical alternative to high-profile, experimental models like Rivian's Also TM-B, its biggest selling point is actually hidden within its power source. The Lemmo 3 stands out as one of the very first electric bikes on the market to be equipped with a semi-solid state battery.

This next-generation battery technology promises significant advantages for daily riders. Primarily, the semi-solid state architecture provides an extended riding range while drastically minimizing the thermal runaway risks—and subsequent fire hazards—that have historically plagued traditional lithium-ion packs. By adopting this advanced tech, Lemmo is positioning its new cargo bike as a major step forward for both commuter safety and battery endurance.
