Universal Studios Hollywood's newest thrill ride is delivering on the screams, but neighboring residents aren't exactly thrilled. Following a wave of noise complaints from locals, the theme park has agreed to implement new measures to silence the shrieks coming from the Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster.
During a recent community meeting attended by over 350 concerned neighbors, Universal executives outlined their noise mitigation strategy. According to reports from Deadline, the park pledged to construct an additional sound barrier designed to absorb the terrifying yells of adrenaline-fueled park-goers.
In addition to the physical sound wall, Universal is altering the ride's operating schedule to give locals a bit of morning peace. For the remainder of the year, the Fast & Furious attraction will remain firmly parked between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM, ensuring that nearby residents won't have to start their days listening to plunging thrill-seekers.
