Meghan Trainor has opened up about the private message she received from Ashley Tisdale following the actress's public departure from what she described as a "toxic" celebrity mom group.

In an interview with Us Weekly published April 15, Trainor shared that Tisdale reached out personally after her essay in The Cut went viral. "Ashley texted me like, 'I'm sorry, your name got dragged in,'" Trainor revealed. "I was like, 'It's all right, girl. The world's a silly, crazy place, and they just want something to talk about.'"

Trainor expressed sympathy for Tisdale's experience, saying she "felt bad" after reading about how the High School Musical alum felt repeatedly excluded from social gatherings with fellow celebrity moms. "I felt bad that she was ever that sad," Trainor said. "I think it was just a lot of miscommunication and confusion. I don't know what happened, but I wish them all the best."

The "All About That Bass" singer has consistently maintained her distance from the drama. Back in January, she posted a TikTok video lip-syncing to a Stranger Things character pleading, "Please, you have to believe me," with the caption: "Me still trying to convince everyone I'm not involved in the mom group drama." She added, "I swear I'm innocent."

In her personal essay, Tisdale—who shares two daughters with husband Christopher French—described initially trying to dismiss the exclusion. "At first, I tried not to take things personally," she wrote. "It's not like people aren't allowed to get together without me—and maybe there were perfectly good reasons that I hadn't been invited."

However, she eventually concluded the pattern was intentional and decided to remove herself from the group dynamic. "I do think our group dynamic stopped being healthy and positive—for me, anyway," Tisdale explained, adding that she doesn't believe the other moms are "bad people."

The group had included several high-profile celebrity mothers whose friendships were previously documented online, though Tisdale has not publicly identified them in her essay.
