Mitsukan, a leading Japanese food manufacturer, has announced price increases on its natto products, including the popular "Kin no Tsubu" series, effective from June. The company will raise prices by up to 20%, citing soaring naphtha costs and rising raw material expenses.
The decision comes as the Middle East situation continues to ripple through global markets, impacting everyday items like rice accompaniments. Naphtha, a key petrochemical feedstock used in packaging and production, has seen significant price hikes, forcing the company to adjust its pricing.
Affected products include various natto varieties under the "Kin no Tsubu" brand. Mitsukan stated that the price adjustments are necessary to maintain product quality and supply stability. Consumers can expect to see the new prices on store shelves starting next month.
