Rapper Offset has been released from the hospital following a shooting incident outside a Florida casino, announcing his focus on recovery and family in a heartfelt statement.
Offset, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus and formerly of the hip-hop trio Migos, was shot in the valet area of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino on April 6. He sustained non-life-threatening injuries and has since been discharged.
In a handwritten note shared on Instagram, Offset expressed gratitude for the support from fans and outlined his priorities moving forward. "I'm good... but I'm planning to be better," he wrote. "I'm focused on my family, my recovery, and getting back to the music."
He added a philosophical reflection: "Realizing that life is made up of quiet wins and loud losses... Life's a gamble and I'm still playing to win."
Local authorities have not filed formal charges related to the shooting. However, fellow rapper Lil Tjay, whose legal name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was arrested at the scene on Tuesday for disorderly conduct and later released. His attorney, Dawn M. Florio, has denied any involvement in the shooting, stating, "Lil Tjay has not been charged with any shooting. Any reporting to the contrary is false."
The Seminole Police Department confirmed that an investigation remains ongoing.
This incident occurs just over three years after the tragic death of Migos member Takeoff, who was fatally shot in Houston in 2022. Patrick Clark was charged with Takeoff's murder and is scheduled to stand trial in November.
Offset, who was previously married to Cardi B, continues to navigate his personal and professional life amid these challenges, emphasizing resilience and forward momentum in his recovery journey.
