Scotland kicked off their T20 series against Namibia with a commanding seven-wicket victory, successfully chasing down a target of 160 with seven balls to spare in Windhoek.
After winning the toss and electing to bat, Namibia found themselves struggling at 94-6, thanks to tight bowling from seamer Jasper Davidson and left-arm spinner Mark Watt, who both claimed two wickets while maintaining economical spells. However, a resilient 54 from captain Gerhard Erasmus, combined with a late unbeaten 19 from Jan Balt, propelled the hosts to a competitive total of 159-7.
Scotland's chase was anchored by a solid opening partnership, with George Munsey's brisk 44 setting the tone early on.
Munsey and Finlay McCreath (16) provided a quick start during the powerplay, ensuring the tourists maintained control throughout their innings. Brandon McMullen, fresh from a century in Sunday's ODI, remained unbeaten on 44 to steer his team to victory, receiving valuable support from captain Richie Berrington, who contributed 34 in his 350th appearance for Scotland.
Despite Berrington's dismissal to a spectacular one-handed catch by Ruben Trumpelmann on the square-leg boundary, wicketkeeper Matthew Cross sealed the win with a decisive shot into the off-side. The series continues with two more matches scheduled for Friday and Saturday, both starting at 13:00 BST.
