The EPD said it was implementing comprehensive security measures to ensure the safe and orderly conduct of the anti-corruption protest.

EPD Acting Director Police Brigadier General Melecio Buslig Jr said there are also reactionary standby support forces from the Pasig, Mandaluyong, Marikina, and San Juan Police Stations for faster deployment to EDSA areas if needed.

The EPD said it will also strictly implement anti-criminality operations in the Metro East area, particularly in transportation hubs, major roads, commercial establishments and other strategic areas before, during, and after the conduct of the White Ribbon March.

The EPD also ensured it would observe maximum tolerance and respect the public's right to free expression.

The NCRPO said Saturday that it would deploy nearly 10,000 personnel to ensure public safety and security during the White Ribbon March on Sunday.

Religious and civil society leaders earlier called on Filipinos to join the White Ribbon Movement March on Sunday, June 28, 2026 at the EDSA People Power Monument to push for electoral reforms and greater accountability in government.

The initiative, led by the Interreligious Leaders Council for National Transformation (IRCNT), seeks to mobilize public support against corruption and political dynasties while advocating reforms in the country’s political system.

The planned gathering is set to take place at the EDSA People Power Monument and is expected to coincide with similar activities in other parts of the country.

A Mass will be held at 12 noon at EDSA Shrine, then participants will march toward the EDSA People Power Monument at EDSA corner White Plains Avenue starting at 2:30 p.m. A program follows at 3 p.m. at the People Power Monument.

Organizers said the White Ribbon Movement aims to unite various sectors, including faith-based organizations and civil society groups, in calling for transparent governance and meaningful political reforms. —KG, GMA News
