Dylan Carter, a 24-year-old singer from South Carolina who rose to fame on Season 24 of The Voice, has died following a car crash. The Colleton County coroner confirmed that Carter succumbed to blunt force injuries sustained in the accident, which has been ruled accidental. He was wearing his seatbelt.
According to law enforcement, Carter was driving a 2026 Tesla sedan south on U.S. Route 21 shortly after 11 PM when the car veered off the road, struck a pole and a fence, and rolled. He was the sole occupant and died at the hospital.
Carter appeared on The Voice in 2023, impressing all four judges with a blind audition of Whitney Houston's "I Look to You." He chose Reba McEntire as his coach and later shared that his performance was a tribute to his mother, who had passed away the year before. McEntire posted a tribute following his death.
Originally from St. George, South Carolina, Carter had loved music since childhood. He was 24.
RIP.
