William Shatner on Turning 95: "I Don't Know What 95 Feels Like"

William Shatner is ready to boldly go into his next year of life. Despite turning 95 on March 22, the Star Trek alum feels both “energized” and “focused.”

“I don't know what 95 feels like,” Shatner exclusively shared with E! News. “Every time I hear the number 95, I go, 'Who? Who? Who's 95 here?'”

“I lead a healthy life. I essentially don't drink. I don't smoke,” he added.

Reflecting on his long career, Shatner admitted his feelings about Star Trek have evolved. While he once joked that he was responsible for the show's legacy, he now credits the entire team.

“We have a great cast, great writers. We have the best plots, we have the best sets. We are telling human stories,” he said.

Shatner also offered a philosophical take on mortality. “Death is the final frontier,” he explained. “And maybe even not that. If you look at quantum physics, you may have reason to hope that when we die, we don't disappear. Our energy goes back home.”

Still working at 95, Shatner recently partnered with LifeWave again. After their short film The World’s Oldest Intern went viral, they are producing two new shorts featuring Star Trek stars Jeri Ryan and Jonathan Frakes. A nationwide casting call is open until April 28 for fans to appear as extras.

“You'll have a part in the film,” Shatner teased, “and you'll meet my two brothers-in-arms, Jonathan Frakes and Jeri Ryan.”
