Bruno Fernandes has opened up about his lengthy tenure at Manchester United, admitting that enduring the pressure and scrutiny at Old Trafford for such a long period is not something every player can handle.
In a candid interview with club legend Wayne Rooney for BBC Sport, the Portuguese midfielder discussed the challenges of playing for one of the world's biggest clubs and why he has chosen to stay.
"Staying this long at Manchester United isn't for everyone," Fernandes said. "The expectations are huge, and every game is under a microscope. You have to have a strong mentality to cope with that."
The 30-year-old, who joined United in January 2020, has become a key figure both on and off the pitch, captaining the side through periods of transition. He reflected on the ups and downs, including managerial changes and inconsistent results, but stressed his commitment to the club's future.
"I love this club, and I want to be part of building something special again," he added. "It's not easy, but that's what makes it worthwhile."
