Goldman and Brown Families Speak Out on Death of O.J. Simpson Detective Mark Fuhrman

The families of Ron Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson have shared their reactions following the death of Mark Fuhrman, the former LAPD detective who played a pivotal role in the O.J. Simpson murder trial. Fuhrman died Tuesday in Idaho after a battle with throat cancer. He was 74.

Ron Goldman's father, Fred Goldman, told TMZ, "Anytime anyone dies, it's a shame."

Nicole Brown Simpson's sister, Tanya Brown, said, "This is a big one and a huge loss."

Fuhrman famously discovered the bloody glove at Simpson's estate, a key piece of evidence. However, his credibility was damaged when the defense revealed he had used racial slurs, contributing to Simpson's acquittal. Despite this, neither Fred nor Tanya blamed Fuhrman for the verdict.

"I think Mark's legacy should not be based around our trial," Tanya said. "He did good outside of the trial and we all make mistakes. I don't wish death upon anyone and I think he did a lot of good in his life and people need to focus on the good he did. It's another chapter of Nicole, gone."

After the trial, Fuhrman was convicted of felony perjury for lying about using racial slurs, making him the only person convicted in connection with the murders. Tanya added, "Anytime someone passes from our case, it's hard. I'm glad he's not in pain anymore. He played an instrumental role in our case. He was not at fault for the demise of the case. I never held anything against him. I hope he lived the rest of his years in peace. I'm shocked and I'm sad."
