Hulk Hogan Reveals Fentanyl Addiction in Final Interview: 'I Should Be Dead'

In a shocking revelation from his final interview before his death, wrestling icon Hulk Hogan disclosed he was consuming potentially lethal doses of fentanyl daily to cope with excruciating pain following his divorce from Linda Hogan.

The details emerge in the new Netflix docuseries "Hulk Hogan: Real American," which features the wrestler's last on-camera appearance before his sudden passing from a heart attack in July 2025.

Hogan explained that after giving "everything" to Linda in their 2009 divorce settlement, he signed with TNA (Total Nonstop Action Wrestling) for financial reasons. However, his body couldn't withstand the physical demands of professional wrestling at that stage of his career.

"I was taking 80-milligram fentanyls, two in the morning, stuffing them under my gums here," Hogan recounted. "I had two 300mg patches of fentanyl on my legs and they gave me six 1500mg fentanyl lollipops to eat."

The wrestling legend said a pharmacist told him, "You should be dead. We have never seen a human being take this much fentanyl."

Hogan described being in such severe pain that he could only sleep in a chair, explaining, "If I just twitched my finger like that, my whole back would spasm and torque."

His final wrestling appearance was in 2012, and he left TNA when his contract expired in 2013. The documentary serves as a stark reminder of the physical toll professional wrestling takes on athletes and the extreme measures some take to manage chronic pain.
