Danish punk rockers Iceage have officially unveiled their sixth studio album, 'For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter,' set for release on May 29 via Mexican Summer. The announcement arrives alongside the urgent new single 'Ember,' marking a powerful return for the band after a five-year hiatus.
Frontman Elias Rønnenfelt described the creative drive behind the project, emphasizing a raw and immediate approach. "The songs needed to be immediate, urgent, raw, and fast," he explained. "We wanted to try to shed any unnecessary weight. Catching outlets of energy is what excites us the most."
The 12-track album, which includes the previously released single 'Star,' is billed as Iceage's "tightest album to date, even glossy at times, but not tight enough to dull its pulse." It promises a dynamic blend of wordless howls, detuned riffs that bend into harmony, breakdowns, handclaps, and chaotic choral breaks.
Produced and mixed by the band alongside Nis Bysted, 'For Love Of Grace & The Hereafter' showcases what the group calls their "fundamental curiosity and trust in their instincts," resulting in a record that is both "bright and energetic." This release follows their 2021 album 'Seek Shelter' and is now available for pre-order.
