League of Legends' Top Jungler Graves Makes His Explosive Riftbound TCG Debut

Malcolm Graves, the shotgun-toting mercenary of League of Legends, has long been a staple in the game's jungle role. Known for clearing out neutral monsters and ambushing unsuspecting enemies, Graves has maintained his status as a top-tier champion for players looking to climb the competitive ranks. Now, the notorious outlaw is bringing his aggressive playstyle to the tabletop.

Riot Games is officially introducing Graves to its physical trading card game, Riftbound. Making his grand entrance in the upcoming Radiance expansion—scheduled for a global launch on October 23—the fan-favorite character will debut as a brand-new card titled "Graves, Blasting Through."

Staying true to his video game counterpart's area-of-effect damage, the new rare Champion Unit completely bypasses traditional single-target combat. Costing five Energy and one Fury (Red) Rune, Graves enters the fray with four Might. His defining mechanic triggers whenever he attacks or defends: instead of standard combat damage, he unleashes damage equal to his Might across every enemy unit present on the battlefield, perfectly mimicking his signature buckshot spread.

This unique ability makes "Graves, Blasting Through" an absolute terror against opponents who rely on swarming the board with low-health units. Because a single blast can wipe out an entire squad of weaker foes, his sheer presence acts as a massive defensive deterrent. In a game where players must fight for control of specific battlefields, stationing Graves on a key point forces the enemy to carefully calculate the widespread damage they will endure simply by initiating an attack. Furthermore, any buffs applied to his Might will simultaneously amplify his devastating area-of-effect potential.

However, the outlaw isn't without his flaws. A five-Energy investment for a unit with only four base Might is steep, and because his ability requires him to attack or defend to trigger, he is highly vulnerable the moment he hits the board. Savvy opponents can utilize removal spells or stuns to neutralize him before he ever fires a shot. Additionally, any robust enemy units that survive his initial barrage are free to retaliate, leaving Graves reliant on tactical positioning and strategic support to truly shine.
