Netflix Snags International Streaming Rights for 'Dragon Ball Super: Beerus' Remake

Netflix Anime has officially confirmed that the highly anticipated remake Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is heading to its streaming catalog this October. While a specific launch date hasn't been locked in for the platform, fans in select regions—including the United States—finally know where to catch the upcoming series.

In Japan, the series is slated to premiere on October 11, broadcasting on Fuji TV before hitting Prime Video Japan shortly after. Surprisingly, Crunchyroll, the traditional home for the original Dragon Ball Super, has kept quiet about its own streaming plans. Although recent leaks hint that Crunchyroll will eventually stream the 19-episode remake, official confirmation is still pending.

Dragon Ball Super: Beerus serves as a modern retelling of the original anime's first three story arcs and the franchise's first two films. Set during the ten-year gap following Majin Buu's defeat at the end of Dragon Ball Z, the series follows Goku and the Z Fighters as they cross paths with Beerus, the formidable God of Destruction. Naturally, this cosmic encounter sets the stage for intense new training regimens and massive power-ups.

It remains to be seen whether Netflix will simulcast the episodes closely trailing the Japanese broadcast or release them in delayed batches. However, fans might not have to wait long for answers. The anime is scheduled for an early international premiere at New York Comic Con on October 8, where more definitive streaming details are expected to drop.
