Magic: The Gathering fans who have been frustrated by scalpers snatching up limited-run Secret Lair releases have a reason to celebrate. Wizards of the Coast is temporarily bringing back its print-to-demand model for a brand-new charity drop titled Their Magic Is Limitless. The set will be available to purchase for a two-week window, running from July 20 through August 3.
The new collection is a philanthropic effort partnered with the Global Fund for Women, an organization dedicated to supporting grassroots gender justice initiatives worldwide. Half of the purchase price for every set sold will go directly to the charity.
Designed as a "celebration of women through the women of Magic," the project was spearheaded by an all-female creative team of eight Wizards of the Coast staff members. Furthermore, the new card art was provided by seven talented female illustrators: Magali Villeneuve, Fury Galluzzi, Ivy Dolamore, Caroline Gariba, Lena Richards, Livia Prima, and Julie Dillon.
Their Magic Is Limitless offers a generous seven-card bundle—two more than the standard five-card Secret Lair drops.
Included Cards:
- Dark Ritual
- Cultivate
- Finale of Devastation
- Lathril, Blade of the Elves
- Coat of Arms
- Sol Ring
- Path of Ancestry
Pricing:
- Non-foil: $39.99
- Foil: $49.99
From a purely financial perspective, the inclusion of Finale of Devastation makes the drop an exceptional value. A staple in green Commander decks for its ability to both tutor creatures and close out games, the card currently commands an average market price of around $50 on its own.
The most surprising element of this announcement is the return to a print-to-demand format. Just last February, Wizards of the Coast stated the company was permanently moving away from the model due to severe supply chain bottlenecks, excessive unsold inventory, and massive shipping delays. In January 2024, the company shifted to limited print runs, a move that inadvertently fueled a booming scalper market and left many genuine players empty-handed.
While Their Magic Is Limitless does not signal a permanent reversal of the company's Secret Lair printing policies, it appears Wizards of the Coast is willing to make special exceptions to maximize fundraising for its charitable partnerships.
