Paul McCartney's upcoming solo album, 'The Boys Of Dungeon Lane', will feature a special collaboration with his former Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr. The track, titled 'Home To Us', marks a nostalgic return to their shared musical roots.
Set for release on May 29, the album is McCartney's first since 2020's 'McCartney III' and is described as his most introspective work to date, delving into his early years in Liverpool. The collaboration with Starr was confirmed by Billboard, revealing that the two will trade vocals line-by-line on the song, with Starr also contributing drums.
"I saw Ringo and said I worked with this guy Andrew [Watt, producer]," McCartney explained. "Ringo came over to Andrew's studio and played a little bit of drums."
The song reportedly includes additional contributions from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri, but McCartney noted that Starr's involvement came together late in the recording process. Despite initial misunderstandings between Starr and producer Andrew Watt, McCartney was inspired to complete the track, focusing it on their childhood memories in Liverpool.
'Home To Us' has been characterized as reminiscent of the classic Beatles sound, offering fans a heartfelt glimpse into the enduring partnership between two of music's most iconic figures.
