Microsoft Hits 20 Million Paid Copilot Users, Claims Real Engagement

Microsoft announced on Wednesday that its AI assistant, M365 Copilot, now boasts over 20 million paid enterprise users, pushing back against skepticism about its adoption. CEO Satya Nadella revealed the milestone during the company's quarterly earnings call, highlighting a fourfold increase in the number of organizations paying for more than 50,000 seats.

Major clients such as Bayer, Johnson & Johnson, Mercedes, and Roche each have over 90,000 seats. Microsoft also highlighted a landmark deal with Accenture, which will deploy Copilot to more than 740,000 employees—the company's largest Copilot agreement to date.

Nadella emphasized that users are actively engaging with the tool, which is integrated into Microsoft 365 apps like Word, Excel, and Outlook. The company's focus on AI-driven productivity appears to be gaining traction, with Copilot serving as a key driver of its cloud and enterprise growth.
