RHOA Star Lisa Wu Denies Ex-Friend's Allegations of Home Scam

Former 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star Lisa Wu is pushing back against claims she tricked a longtime friend out of a house, after the woman filed a police report alleging theft by deception.

According to a DeKalb County, Georgia police report obtained by TMZ, Norma Denise Mitchem reported the incident on April 9, 2026, alleging that Lisa Wu and her boyfriend, Donald Jacob, schemed to take over her home in November 2025.

A nephew of Mitchem told police that Wu helped his aunt acquire the home through an LLC with the understanding that the deed would be transferred back to Mitchem after she resolved a lien issue. However, the nephew claimed Jacob never intended to return the property.

Wu vehemently denies any wrongdoing. In a statement to TMZ, she said, "For more than 30 years, I've built my career and reputation with integrity, professionalism, and hard work. I have absolutely no involvement in fraudulent activity of any kind, and the idea that I would be implicated simply because of people I know or professional relationships is preposterous."

Wu claimed she assisted Mitchem, a longtime friend, because Mitchem could not qualify for a loan. She said Mitchem assured her she would secure financing after closing. Wu alleged that Mitchem made only a few payments before cutting off contact, and is now essentially squatting in the home after Wu refused to put the property in Mitchem's son's name.

Text messages allegedly sent by Wu to Mitchem on April 3 reminded her to make a payment and noted a water bill. A later message said, "Denise, please sent your payment it has came out of the account."

Mitchem disputes Wu's version of events. She acknowledged she could not qualify for a loan but said Wu bought the home herself and then tried to sell it back to Mitchem at an inflated price.

The dispute remains unresolved, with both sides standing by their accounts.
