Ryder Cup 2027: Irish Ticket Prices Hit Record High as Organizers Cite Global Demand

Ryder Cup organizers have justified the steep ticket prices for the 2027 event in Ireland, marking the highest cost ever for a European-hosted edition of the prestigious golf tournament.

Daily general admission tickets for the competition days (September 17-19) at Adare Manor in County Limerick are set at €499 (£434). This represents a significant jump from the €260 maximum charged for the 2023 event in Rome.

While it sets a new European benchmark, the price remains below the $750 (£555) paid by spectators for last year's Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in New York.

Richard Atkinson, the European Tour Group's chief Ryder Cup officer, acknowledged the increase but pointed to broader economic shifts and the event's growing stature.

"We acknowledge it's an increase from Rome," Atkinson told BBC Sport NI. "That was four years ago and a lot has happened in the world since then. We are lower than Bethpage. We've tried to make this as accessible as possible to a wide demographic. Our practice day tickets will be from €89 and juniors from €20. Our prices are proportionate to a global sporting event."

Organizers have introduced tiered pricing to improve accessibility. Practice day tickets (Tuesday and Wednesday) will start at €89 (£77), while a Thursday ticket, which includes the opening ceremony, is priced at €179 (£156).

Atkinson expressed confidence that fans would receive value for money, emphasizing an enhanced on-site experience.

"We have significant focus on the fan experience... from the moment people arrive at 6:30 in the morning, they'll be entertained not only by 24 of the best golfers in the world but also outside of the ropes with an extensive entertainment programme. We'll have over 20,000 grandstand seats at Adare, a record for any European Ryder Cup, and big screens on every hole."

Ticket sales will begin with an exclusive priority window for residents of the island of Ireland on April 24. A global open ballot follows on June 3. Unsuccessful Irish applicants will get a second chance in the June ballot.

With over half a million expressions of interest already registered, organizers anticipate strong demand. They expect approximately one-third of the projected 250,000 weekly attendees to come from Ireland.
