Despite a disappointing box office performance for the recent Supergirl film, DC is already giving fans a new way to experience the story. This fall, DC has partnered with Penguin Random House Audio to release a full-cast audiobook production of Tom King and Bilquis Evely's Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the comic that inspired the movie.
The eight-issue series will be adapted into an immersive audio drama featuring a talented cast, innovative sound effects, and original music. Marcella Lentz-Pope, known for voicing Corrin in Fire Emblem, will voice Supergirl, joined by Amelia Tyler (narrating as Ruthye), Lim Shi-An (young Ruthye), Jon Bailey (Krem and Krypto), Marc Thompson (Zor-El), Ellen Adair (Alura), and Tan Kheng Hua (Ruthye's mother).
The audiobook is directed and produced by Roshan Singh Sambhi, co-showrunner of DC High Volume: Batman. In a statement, Singh Sambhi described the project as a "love letter" to the comic, aiming to build a "theater of the mind" faithful to every panel.
The Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow audiobook will be released on September 1.
