Taylor Swift Files Voice Trademark to Combat AI Deepfake Exploitation

Taylor Swift has taken legal steps to protect her voice from unauthorized use in AI-generated deepfake videos and audio recordings. The singer-songwriter filed two trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), submitting sound recordings of her album announcements and a photo of herself on stage.

According to a report on GTV News' Balitanghali, the move is designed to safeguard Swift's vocal and visual identity amid the proliferation of deepfakes created using artificial intelligence. A trademark attorney noted that the registrations would help prevent malicious or commercial exploitation of her likeness and voice.

Swift's publicist has not yet issued a statement on the filings. The artist follows in the footsteps of Hollywood actor Matthew McConaughey, who previously trademarked his iconic lines from the 1993 film "Dazed and Confused."

This proactive measure highlights growing concerns among celebrities about the misuse of AI to create convincing fake content without consent.
