The BBC Proms 2026 lineup is set to be shaken, not stirred, with a special orchestral concert celebrating the music of James Bond. Taking place on August 25 at the Royal Albert Hall, the event will be conducted by Daniel Bartholomew-Poyser and performed by the BBC Concert Orchestra. Nick Mohammed, known for his role in Ted Lasso, will host the evening, which features iconic tracks from films such as Skyfall and The Spy Who Loved Me. The concert will also be broadcast on BBC TV and iPlayer.
The Proms season runs from July 17 to September 12, with highlights including a tribute to Disney composer Alan Menken, a prog rock celebration, a centenary homage to Miles Davis, and a series of American music concerts marking the 250th anniversary of the US Declaration of Independence.
Music has always been integral to the Bond franchise, from Monty Norman's signature theme to classic title songs by Shirley Bassey ('Goldfinger'), Paul McCartney and Wings ('Live and Let Die'), Adele ('Skyfall'), and Sam Smith ('The Writing's on the Wall'). Recently, Lana Del Rey released 'First Light' for an upcoming Bond video game, after her rejected track '24' from Spectre later appeared on her album Honeymoon.
With the next Bond film still in development, speculation is rife about who will sing the next theme. Olivia Dean has emerged as a favorite among bookmakers following her recent Brit Awards success.
