The Premier League has announced that the fixtures for the 2026-27 season will be released on Friday, June 19, at 10:00 BST—one hour later than traditional 09:00 slot.
Due to the 2026 FIFA World Cup in the United States, the upcoming campaign will begin later than usual. The season is set to kick off on Saturday, August 22, 2026, which is 34 days after the World Cup final, and will conclude on Sunday, May 30, 2027. The Champions League final for that year will follow six days later.
The league has confirmed there will be 33 rounds of weekend fixtures, with the remaining five rounds scheduled during midweeks. The schedule aims to minimize clashes with UEFA competition dates. Additionally, during the festive period, no two rounds of matches will occur within 60 hours of each other, addressing previous congestion concerns.
A significant change to international breaks is on the horizon. Starting next season, the traditional two-week breaks in September and October will be merged into a single three-week break. This means a pause in Premier League action from the weekend of September 19/20 until October 10/11. The November break remains unchanged. This revised schedule is expected to continue until at least the 2030-31 season.
Stay tuned for the full fixture list release on June 19.
