Darrell Sheets, best known for his 13-year run on the reality series Storage Wars, has died at the age of 67. Authorities discovered his body on April 22 at a residence in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, in what appears to be a suicide.
Lake Havasu City Police responded to a report of a deceased individual around 2 a.m. and identified the man as Sheets. He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body has been transferred to the Mohave County Medical Examiner's office. The investigation remains ongoing.
Sheets first gained fame on A&E's Storage Wars, which aired from 2010 to 2023. He began his flipping business more than three decades ago, bidding on unclaimed storage units in search of hidden treasures. "I have found everything from scrap crap to Picassos in storage units," he once said. "They call me the Gambler because I take the risks, bet big and come out on top!"
Beyond his television persona, Sheets was a devoted family man. He shared a long-term partnership with Kimber Naisbitt Pino, describing her as "the love of my life." He also had two children, and his son Brandon Sheets followed him into the storage-auction business. "I am lucky to have my son around me every day," Sheets said.
When he wasn't chasing the thrill of the auction, Sheets enjoyed boating, playing drums and guitar, and spending time with his dogs. He also made guest appearances on Rachael Ray and The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.
