No Script, No Problem: Susan Enriquez Recalls Impromptu Acting in Robin Padilla Film

Veteran journalist Susan Enriquez recently looked back on a unique acting experience—guest starring in Robin Padilla's 2002 film "Hari ng Selda: Anak ni Baby Ama 2" without a script.

In the latest episode of "Kay Susan Tayo! Vlogs," Padilla revealed that Enriquez was his first choice when the film needed a credible journalist and newscaster. Despite initial reluctance from producers who feared she wouldn't agree, Padilla insisted, recalling their shared ordeal as hostages of the Abu Sayyaf Group in Basilan in 2000.

When Enriquez arrived on set, she asked for her lines. "I just told you the scene. There's no script. You make up your own lines," Padilla recounted. The scene was a riot at Bilibid prison, and Enriquez improvised an interview with the warden.

Padilla was impressed—Enriquez delivered perfectly in one take. "She said, 'This is great, we save tape. No need for take 2,'" Padilla said with a laugh. Enriquez, for her part, credited Padilla's guidance and protection during their hostage ordeal, which she said made her trust him completely.

The story highlights the unique bond between the two Kapuso personalities, forged in danger and strengthened by a shared sense of humor and professionalism.
