Sunny Hostin, co-host of 'The View,' is representing her son Gabriel after he was cited for trespassing in New York City. According to court records obtained exclusively, Gabriel received a summons on June 16 for allegedly trespassing on railroad right-of-way. No arrest was made.
Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, is listed as her son's legal counsel. She submitted a letter to the district attorney requesting the case be dismissed before the upcoming hearing.
In the letter, Hostin described Gabriel as a 2025 Harvard graduate with no criminal record and no prior contact with law enforcement. She explained that he is an avid runner and former Junior Olympian track athlete who was hill training in the area. He noticed a gravel incline with an open gate and no visible 'no trespassing' sign, leading him to believe it was accessible.
Hostin stated that Gabriel called her immediately when approached by an officer, and she characterized the incident as an 'honest mistake.' She emphasized his hard work in building an 'exemplary academic and personal record.'
Arguing for dismissal, Hostin wrote that it 'would avoid imposing unnecessary consequences on a young man who has demonstrated exceptional character and achievement and who poses no risk to the community.'
Gabriel's next court appearance is set for July 31.
