The Home Depot is giving its iconic 12-foot-tall skeleton, Skelly, a voice upgrade for the 2026 Halloween season. The viral decoration now features a new mobile app that lets owners speak through its animated mouth, adding an interactive layer to spooky displays.
Using a smartphone, you can control Skelly's jaw movements and broadcast your voice in real time, making it possible to greet trick-or-treaters or deliver frightful monologues. The app also includes pre-recorded sound effects and phrases, but the live voice feature is expected to be a hit among fans of the massive skeleton.
Skelly first launched in 2020 and quickly became a social media sensation, selling out year after year. The 2026 version retains its signature height and glow-in-the-dark bones, but the new talking capability marks the first major functional update since its release.
"We're always looking for ways to make Halloween more fun and memorable," said a Home Depot spokesperson. "Skelly has become a beloved tradition, and this year we wanted to give fans even more ways to get creative."
The talking Skelly will be available online and in select stores starting August 2026, priced at $299. Previous years saw rapid sellouts, so early purchase is recommended.
