Neko Health, the body-scanning health startup co-founded by Spotify CEO Daniel Ek, is crossing the Atlantic. The company announced plans to open its first U.S. clinic in New York later this year, fueled by a $700 million funding round from a roster of celebrity investors and top venture firms.
Founded in 2018 by Ek and Hjalmar Nilsonne, Neko Health operates private clinics that combine full-body scans with blood tests, using proprietary AI and custom-built hardware to detect early signs of disease. The service is designed to give patients a comprehensive picture of their health in under an hour, with a focus on prevention rather than reaction.
"We believe that healthcare should be proactive, not reactive," said Ek in a statement. "Neko Health's expansion into the U.S. is a major step toward making advanced health screening accessible to more people."
The startup's clinic in Stockholm has already served thousands of patients, and the New York location will be the first of many planned across major U.S. cities. Details on pricing and appointment availability for the U.S. market are expected closer to the opening date.
